I Wonder What She Would Say

The other day I was going through my folders of pictures and came across the image above. It was a cold December night as I walked up the Las Vegas strip. I came across this young women on a bridge. I asked her a few questions with the intentions of finding out her story, but she remained silent. She gave me no reaction. She barely moved a muscle. I didn't want to just leave, so I reached in my pocket and gave her some extra cash I had on me. At that moment I asked for permission to take a picture. She nonchalantly nodded her head "yes". It's been over a year since my encounter with her, and I still think of her voice. A voice I never heard. I wonder what she would say.

My Moment with the King (RIP Bee)

Ever since I picked up my camera and started chasing my dreams, I've met all kinds of people. Famous and poor. Black and white. But there is always certain spirits that you only have to meet once for them to change your life. King Bee was one of those spirits.

Recording Artist + Construction Site + South Boston

Throughout the years I've build business relationships with visionaries from all walks of life. One being with Haze, a local Hip Hop artist from the Boston area. We recently reunited in South Boston to work on some new visuals for some of his upcoming projects.

Jenna + Jeff (couple's portrait)

My style of photography is a little bit different than what most would consider traditional. I always try to include my documentary style photography into what ever project I have in front of me. Personally, I try my best to stay away from the "pose, now say cheese" type of pictures. I find it to be more visually beautiful for my clients to see themselves sharing an intimate moment together. Now scroll down and enjoy!

Pictures in Motion: Adrian Osorio

I photographed Adrian Osorio for about 30 minutes while he nonchalantly enjoyed some time on his skateboard. I put about 130+ pictures together to create this piece. Press play, enjoy & share with friends.

Model + End of Summer + Cambridge, MA

With the Summer coming to an end, I decided to squeeze in one more Summer shoot before the Fall takes it's place. We chose Cambridge, MA as a location due to the beautiful outdoor scenery it has to offer. It was a simple photo session. I made a conscious decision to stay away from the flash and utilized the natural light as much as I could. Enjoy!

Kush Groove Clothing Company (Photo Session)

Kush Groove Clothing Company has been making noise in the streets of Boston, MA since the day their product hit the market. The CEO of the company reached out to me with ideas for a "raglan photo session". He wanted baseball to be the theme and already had a field in mind that we could use. We ran with the idea and the finals came out amazing!

Hats/fascinators at the Horse Races (Saratoga, NY)

My camera has allowed me to travel & experience a lot since the day I started taking pictures. I have been blessed enough to cross international borders thanks to my craft. Although this past weekend I didn't use my passport, I did cross state lines. Dan Tordjman, from America's Best Racing, was kind enough to introduce 20 Boston Bloggers to a day at the Saratoga Race Course. It was a day of fashion, food, drinks and horse races. Despite the many things I photographed that day, I mainly focused my lens on all the different hats I came across.

Model + Summer Fashion + North End of Boston

What do you get when you add a model + Summer fashion + the North End of Boston? Awesome pictures of course! I was connected with Karina (the model) through Lamani Film + Inspired Snapshots. Both Boston based companies who I've previously collaborated with on numerous projects. I chose the North End because of the architecture; It's beautiful in the Summertime. Although it was rainy, the lighting was perfect.

The Grease Pole (Festival Betances 2014)

I can't picture a Summer in the South End without Festival Betances, and I can't picture Festival Betances without The Grease Pole. It is a tradition that has been kept alive since i was a child. Groups of men and women take turns climbing a pole covered in grease with the intentions of grabbing the flag at the top. Besides the cash prize, the winning team walks away with bragging rights for a year.

My Week of "Pasillos Pintados 2014"

Every year The Hurley School celebrates Pasillos Pintados. It's a week in which they invite about 20 Latino Artist from the City of Boston area to host a week long event involving all kinds of art forms. The Artist gets a class assigned to them and has one week to create/produce a project with the students. The students will then showcase their work in front of the school and community at the end of the week. I was chosen to work with the 9th grade class. My mission was use my poetry, visual art & photography/filming skills to have each individual express themselves. I was beyond excited!

Pictures in Motion: Little Isabella

Pictures in Motion is a project I started experimenting with a few months back. I wanted to create somewhat of a picture movie or a slideshow with a twist. I used the "burst mode" on my DSLR to capture the movement of Little Isabella in numerous shots. I layer them out in a perfect sequence to bring my images to life.

By the way, I had a blast working with "Little Isabella"!

"My Experience with Photography" (short documentary by dante luna)

I worked along side Dante Luna on many projects. Everything from mayoral elections, to short documentaries. This was my first time being in front of the camera and it was an honor to be able and share my story. Please watch and share with your friends! Blessings to all!

Experimenting with Phone Photography

With the growth of technology, cameras and phones have been changing as quick as the seasons do. I'll be the first one to admit that I'm a "Canon type of guy". Due to image quality and trouble processing (editing) images, I never was a big fan of phone photography. But a trip to florida and some minor adjustments changed all that.

A Beautiful Night for a Fashion Shoot

A few weeks ago I worked with Yannery Burgos, a local fashion designer from the Boston area. She was days away from graduating and needed pictures of her final collection. Her inspiration was "New York City lights in the rain". We aimed to give it a city girl vibe. It was fun working with her and the models. I chose my favorite pictures to share with you all!

Graffiti Jungle: Bartlett Yard

There's always that one place you always see and walk by but never visit or enter. Bartlett Yard is that place for me. Growing up in the South End/Lower Roxbury area of Boston, I always remember the "empty bus garage covered in graffiti". I recently read an article that was discussing the recent purchase of this lot and the future plans for it. I thought I should document it at it's current state before it becomes history.

After The Fire (Boston Firefighters)

All my life I wondered if heroes truly existed. On March 26, 2014 I got my answer. The city of Boston lost two of it's own during a 9 alarm fire on Boylston street. Days after the incident, my colleagues and I set out to work on a "Boston Firefighter" documentary.

He Pulled His Eye Out For a Dollar

I never know what to expect when I take my camera for a walk around Down Town Boston. Of course there are days where I just don't find anything, but most days are worth blogging about.

Kool G Rap Live Performance & Interview

Anyone who know's about Hip Hop's history knows who Kool G Rap is. I can't explain how cool it was for me to help film his performance and interview back stage. I must admit. It gave me bragging rights at my next bar outing.

Caskey & Snow Tha Product Live

In my own personal opinion Caskey was the highlight of the night but overall no complaints. It was a fun & interesting job when all was said and done. Enjoy!

I had the chance to help Dante Luna behind the scenes with his exclusive Cassidy coverage! SHARE!

A Minor Road Trip (Orlando to Boston)

Back in the beginning of February I went down South to Orlando, FL to visit my parents for a couple of weeks. Plus I had some business projects to work on. Right when I was getting ready to arrange my return a good friend of mines, who's a filmmaker, asked me to jump on board the second half of his "East Coast Study Tour Documentary". You know I couldn't say no. I put together some pictures to recap the 4 day adventure. To see all the pictures from this journey check out my Facebook account.

I have a habit of photographing when in airplanes.

The "Old School" Villa Victoria

Every chance I get, I try to remind people how important pictures are and the role they play in salvaging memories. As usual, I was debating between post this week. Not sure which direction I wanted to head as the new year takes flight.

There's a FaceBook group dedicated to the history of my childhood neighborhood (The Villa Victoria). On there, people share pictures and stories on a weekly basis. As I browsed through the selection the other night, I decided to dedicate the first post of 2014 to the history of my community. It's amazing being able to travel back in time, even if it's for one second. Enjoy!
